Fireside chat on the role of design to foster inclusion.
At the height of the pandemic, the civil unrest in the US began igniting conversations around the world about diversity and inclusion in our personal and professional lives.
As designers, we also acknowledge that products with blind spots and biases exist, and that failing to address them can propagate unfairness and exclude vulnerable people — but if design as an industry is busy working on delighting users with disruptive products, are we spending enough time thinking about those who are left out of the process?
In the fireside chat series “UX meets Diversity” hosted by UXify Eindhoven, Kevin, Imran, and I reflect on our experiences and challenges, and discuss how DEIB efforts in design have evolved for us over the years.
